Cambodacious
So...rather later than expected...again. If there's one thing I've learnt during my meanderings it's that time flies when you're having fun.
Still, I'm not sure how much fun Cambodia was for the most part. We were there for about six days ("we" being the English roses, Holly and Lizzie, the Canadian upstarts - and core founders of Team Alpha - Matt and Steph, myself, and an American legend named Paul who we met on the bus from Laos).

Siem Riep was most definitely the highlight of our foray into the most landmined country in the world. The town was nice enough, but obviously Angkor Wat is the reason we visited. For anyone that doesn't know, Angkor Wat is the amazing city of ancient temples, including the one with all the trees growing over it. Tomb Raider with Angelina Jolie was filmed here. We didn't see her. Still, getting up at 0430 to tuk tuk it over to the temples for sunrise was a great experience, but by 1400 we were all cream crackered and ready to go back to town. We had a guide called Votar who dressed like Crocodile Dundee and made animal noises.

Tomb Raider, but with smaller tits.

I thought this guy's arm and the hench root worked well as a composition

We went out in Siem Riep a few times, the best night being one where we ended up at a local nightclub: It was huge and full of Cambodians; we were the only foreigners in there! The club itself was awesome, but they were playing a techno version of Happy Birthday when we went in there. They then put loads of smoochy music on, and after twenty minutes of that we decided to leave!

I didn't DJ at all in Cambodia. I recorded the vocals to "Filth Hut" in the hotel at Siem Riep, though, and spent the rest of the time larking about.
After Siem Riep it was the obligitary trip to Pnom Pnenh (the capital city) - about 6 hours on the bus from Siem Riep. We stayed in a lakeside guesthouse in the city which was very cool, as it's lounge area was on decking over the water, stretching about 20 metres from the bank. Our main reason for visiting Pnom Pnenh was to visit S21 and The Killing Fields to find out about the Khmer Rouge and Pol Pot. It was very moving, to say the least. In S21(a high school in the city that Pol Pot comandeered as an interrogation and torture prison), there were photos in each of the classrooms (cells) of the corpses found there, as well as the original torture equipment laid out on the rusty iron bedspreads. After spending two hours here we got a tuk tuk out to the killing fields on the edge of town and wandered around the mass graves where the khmer Rouge chucked the tens of thousands of bodies. It's a surprisingly small area, but only when we were leaving did Holly point to the ground and we realised we were walking on millions of compacted bones - scraps of cloth still on some of them.
Then, the next day we jumped on the bus to go over the border and into Vietnam. Destination: Saigon. Population: Us, and about a billion nutters on mopeds...
